Membership

Agency Membership

GOVIS membership is open to all public service agencies in New Zealand. If the agency you work for is a member, then you receive the benefits of membership. The following section outlines details regarding membership. Employees of member agencies are entitled to:

  • Come to the free lunchtime events.
  • Attend GOVIS conference at a discounted rate.
  • Vote on the business items at AGM.
  • Stand for election to the GOVIS committee or one of the Officers of GOVIS.

Membership Fee

Membership costs $230 per agency, per year. The membership fee is discussed at each Annual General Meeting in September. Changing the fee requires a successful resolution at the AGM.

Primary Contact

The Primary Contact for an agency is the person named in the application form and will be regarded as the "main contact".  The “main contact” will also be responsible for making sure the annual membership invoice is actioned. It would be preferred if more than one contact name is provided in case people leave the agency. Names are not disclosed to any other party.

GOVIS Invoices

An invoice is automatically sent to the last known agency contact on the anniversary of joining GOVIS. Please contact GOVIS if you have not received the invoice.

Current Members

There is a current list of member agencies available here. This may be useful if you are requesting "member" rates for conference.

I thought we were a Member?

If you believe your agency is a member but is not listed here, please contact GOVIS to find out if your agency has missed renewing its membership.

Ending Membership

Organisations wishing to discontinue their membership must do so by writing/emailing the GOVIS Secretary as required by the GOVIS Constitution.

Individual Membership

GOVIS is pleased to advise that individuals can become Honorary members of GOVIS (see the GOVIS constitution for details about Honorary membership). Honorary membership is available for people like students, retired people, consultants, or employees in the private sector. "Honorary membership of GOVIS" will look great on your CV. The fee per annum is $45 including GST and is automatically invoiced each year on the anniversary of joining. If you are already working for an agency that is member of GOVIS, you do not need to join as an individual.

Benefits

Honorary members can:

  • Come to the free lunchtime events.

  • Attend GOVIS conference at a discounted rate.

  • Vote on the business items at AGM.

  • Stand for election to the GOVIS committee or one of the Officers of GOVIS.
