Why should my agency participate in GOVIS? GOVIS puts highly relevent profesional development at the fingertips of all your staff. Membership gives your staff networking and learning at GOVIS lunchtime events participation in GOVIS Forums discount registration at the GOVIS conference extra skills and contacts if they help on the committees that run GOVIS free attendance if they help run the Conference. Are all government agencies eligible to join GOVIS?

Most agencies are eligible, apart from councils and institutues of higher learning. GOVIS covers agencies that meet one of the following criteria:

Inclusion in the First schedule of the State Sector Act 1988
They are an organisation listed by name in the Fourth schedule of the Public Finance Act 1989
They are a "State service" as defined in Section 2 Interpretation, of the State Sector Act 1988
They are listed in the GOVIS Constitution

Agencies not listed on the above can apply to the GOVIS Secretary and be considered for membership.
